2012 Poway Cheerleading
Poway Pop Warner cheer is a youth cheer program designed to emphasize safety, cheer fundamentals, understanding the game of football, and teamwork.

Date/Times TBD, but tentatively scheduled for Sunday, June 3 at the following times.
Flag: 1:00-2:00
Mitey Mite: 2:00-3:00
Pee Wee: 3:00-4:00
Midget 4:00-5:00

Practices:
Cheer practices will be held at Meadowbrook Middle School. Competition Squads (Jr. Pee-Midget) will practice at indoor facilities in Poway possibly beginning in late September (number of indoor practices/outdoor practices TBD). Additional gym time may be arranged by the Head Coach of competitive squads at the expense of the team.
Head Cheer coaches determine exact practice times/days. Generally practices are usually between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm.
Flag and Mitey Mite squads practice 2 to 3 days per week for approx. 1.5 to 2 hours.
Jr. Pee Wee – Midget practice 4 to 5 days per week, and drop down 3 practices per week when school starts with a duration of 2 to 2.5 hours per practice.
Games:
Games are on held on Saturdays (younger teams are usually in the morning while older squads are later in the evening). Games start late August. Home Field is Poway High School. Other possible game locations (specifics to be announced as schedule is set): Carlsbad, Escondido, Fallbrook, La Costa Canyon, Murrieta, Oceanside, Ramona, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos, San Marcos, Scripps Ranch, Temecula Valley, Torrey Pines, Valley Center, Vista and Wildomar.
Competition Dates
Palomar Competition- Sunday, October 28th, Viejas Arena (Flag and Mitey Mite teams perform a routine, but do not compete)
Regional Championships – Sunday, Novemer 18th, Long Beach (Jr. Pee Wee-Midget teams that place 1st or 2nd at the Palomar Competition)
National Championship – December 3rd – 7th, Orlando, Florida
(Jr. Pee Wee-Midget teams that place 1st or 2nd at the Regional Competition)
Please note that travel expenses to these events are an additional cost. Squads are encouraged to organize fundraisers to offset costs. Head coaches will discuss further at their team meetings.
